Wasena.

My father and I took a walk along the new Roanoke Greenway while my nephews were warming up over at the Skate Park. It was intersting seeing how they had dug out so much ground to install a "freeboard" on the new flood wall. I was glad to see they that they didn't pull up the old original maples down by the bottom.

The original SW Virginia Visitors Center. After the flood of 1985, they moved over to Center in the Square in downtown Roanoke. This beautiful old stone building has remained empty and abandoned. I imagine, as the Greenway becomes more and more popular, someone will probably turn this space into a cafe or coffee house.

Norfolk and Southern coal trains still in action.
